In heavy industry and mobile hydraulics, components are constantly subjected to extreme stress. When a hydraulic pump needs to be protected against coarse contamination, a standard screen often isn’t enough. Particles that enter the tank during operation or through the ventilation system will immediately cause wear to gears, pistons, and housing walls if filtration is not in place.
A professional suction filter captures these contaminants before they reach the pump. By using structures optimised for flow in a targeted manner, we can also ensure that mechanical flow resistance remains minimal. This is crucial to reliably prevent the dangerous effects of cavitation, a phenomenon where gas bubbles form due to low pressure, which can otherwise cause irreparable damage to pump components in a very short time.

Even when installed horizontally below the oil level, the filter's full performance and flow dynamics remain uncompromised. Maintenance without downtimes: replace hydraulic filters without draining oil

For maintenance managers, the ease of maintaining a component is a critical factor in determining overall operating costs (TCO). A classic filter change in systems below the fluid level has traditionally meant stopping the system, draining hundreds of litres of hydraulic oil, replacing the filter, and pumping the oil back in. This takes time, leads to delays, and carries the risk of environmental pollution.

This is where our technical innovation comes in: the mechanical inlet valve integrated into the suction filter closes automatically when the housing cover is removed.

  • The advantage: You can replace the hydraulic filter without draining the oil from the tank – even when it’s installed horizontally far below the oil level.
  • Safe protection: Since the inlet valve immediately blocks backflow, the system oil remains in the tank, and the oil in the filter housing can be safely drained through the drain screw during element replacement. The reliable inlet valve ensures that element replacement can be carried out in a completely clean, fast, and contamination-free manner, without affecting the surrounding environment. This type of inlet valve drastically reduces maintenance time.

  • In-to-out flow direction: this specific flow design ensures that the separated contamination particles remain fully in the filter basket during element replacement and do not return to the tank.
  • Magnetic pre-filtration: the magnetic core integrated into the cover efficiently captures ferrite particles before the fluid even reaches the actual filter fleece. This reduces the medium's contamination load and significantly extends the element's service life.
  • Clogging indicators: the filter head’s universal connection options allow for the flexible integration of visual or electrical vacuum indicators, enabling precise maintenance planning.
  • Verified quality: Validation is conducted in accordance with several standards, including ISO 2941 (collapse and burst pressure), ISO 2942 (proof of satisfactory manufacturing), ISO 3968 (flow characteristics), and ISO 16889 (multipass test).
